Movie in the Park / Resource Fairs - FREE
The Pride Alliance is looking to give back and connect with local community. We would like to offer a FREE Movie in the Park - bring a blank and lawn chair and get cozy. We will be including some of the surrounding towns as well.
Not only will we have a movie - We want to make resources of the area known and would like to coordinate a resource fair with other area non-profits, and to share these resources in a fun setting of a community movie night - complete with hot dogs and popcorn.
MAIN STREET and YOUTH ALLEY
The Pride Alliance is looking to identify LGBTQIA+ youth ages 7-17, also looking for questioning youth, or families that are in need of youth services and what those are.
Please send an email and we will keep you informed of our growth and creation of NEW local groups - Main Street - which is ages 7-11, and Youth Alley which is ages 12-17! Everyone has a place to feel needed, heard, and have a chance to express themselves - and to just be social in a safe place.
These groups will be an inclusive drop off groups that will expand into activities, offer IEP assistance, tutoring, events, counseling referrals, support groups, anti-bully networks, connections to health services, and life skills - all in a warm and welcoming environment. Facilitated by at least 2 (vetted) adults at all time. Support is also provided to Allies and parents, we want to create the most understanding and supportive environment possible, and we have the resources and tools to help. GIVE BACK PROGRAM - Nominations welcome!
The Pride Alliance would like to come together for quarterly GIVE BACK projects. Need help cleaning a yard? painting? building a ramp? touch up community signs? trash pick-up along roads? etc. Let us know where we can be of assistance. Please email us if you would like to be a volunteer.
Most recently we provided a spa day for a cancer victim whom "Felt like less of a woman". The Alliance came together to find hair cut and color, nail manicure, makeup, massage, dinner, and even a photo shoot. We hope that for one day she felt absolutely beautiful, and found that inner woman.
Outreach and Environment
The Pride Alliance would like to help when we have the resources to do so.
We understand that everyone may need that help at some point. If we can not help we will help to connect to a resource that can.
- Community Closet for health aids (walkers, cane, shower chair, bathroom chair, braces, etc
- Application assistance for public programs, insurance, education, and employment.
- Employment Services such as resume, interview coaching, applications, clothing.
- Help connecting to documents.
- Emergency Food boxes, connect to community kitchens, food banks, and applications.
- Birthday / Holiday gift assistance
- Connect to Arkansas Legal Aid services.
- Wellness check
- Individual Case Consult for available community resources.
- Connect to Crisis Intervention and Emergency Housing for displaced LGBTQIA+
